The EYHA Novice program is designed to teach new players the fundamentals of skating. As their abilities develop, they are introduced to hockey basics.
The Novice group meets consistently each Saturday morning at the Essex HS rink from 10:45am - 11:55 am unless otherwise noted. We will also have occasional ice on Sunday at Leddy Park in Burlington.
Please note that we will hold two Novice sessions this season. The first will run from October 18 - December 6. The second session will run from December 13 - January 31. You may register for one or both sessions. Full registration information is available by clicking on the Registration link to the left.
The safety of your child is a primary concern. Therefore, certain equipment is required including:
- Helmet with chin strap and full cage or shield
- Elbow pads
- Shin pads
- Cup/supporter
- Gloves
- Hockey skates
- Hockey stick
EYHA recomments that all participants use mouth guards and neck guards pursuant to USA Hockey guidelines.
Coaches and volunteers are always welcome. Prospective coaches should visit the Coaches section of the EYHA website to obtain the required paperwork which should be completed, notarized and turned in to John Laliberte.
